Software Overview

PC Software

To connect to, update, configure the PVSG, use the PVSG PC Software. The PVSG PC Software is distributed via a single installer (Part Number 1051605), and currently installs the following components:

  • PVSG Dashboard and Driver - Used to connect to PVSG, view PVSG status, and to use the diagnostic features of the PVSG.
  • PVSG Update Tool - Used to update the PVSG Platform Software.
  • PVSG Configuration Tool - Used to configure the PVSG.

Embedded Software

Embedded software for the PVSG is distributed as a deployment package (Part number 1051642). A version of embedded software is pre-programmed on the PVSG from the factory and upgradable using the update tool.

Custom Logic Applications

Developers are able to create 3rd party "custom logic" applications that run on licensed PVSGs. The following software downloads are required to create custom logic applications:

  • PVSG Custom Application Toolchain (Part Number 10516C5) - to be installed on a machine running Linux.
  • PVSG Custom Application Template (Part Number 10516C2) - the starting point for all custom logic projects.
  • PVSG PC Developer Tools (Part Number 10516C3) - tool used to create the final custom logic application file.
  • PVSG Code Signing Certificate - used by the PC Developer Tool to sign the custom logic application. Customers who wish to develop custom applications for the PVSG should contact Parker to obtain a signing certificate.

Licences

Some tools and features on the PVSG cannot be used unless a licence is installed.

  • Tool licences require a challenge key specific to a PC to be generated by the user. This is used by Parker to generate a response key which can be installed on the same user's PC. Tool which require licenses are noted in the download pages.
  • A feature licence can be generated by Parker based on the serial number of the PVSG. This is then installed onto the PVSG by the user.
