International Immunology Foundation in co-operation with Practice Lentz
M. Rigdon Lentz M.D. and team Oncologist / HematologistThe International Immunology Foundation (IIF) is dedicated to the study of the relationship between the immune system of the patient and her or his cancer. Immuno-Oncology, a new area of medicine, focuses on the development of customized therapies that aim to improve the patient‘s ability to generate an effective immune response against cancer. The backbone of this immune therapy against cancer is Immunepheresis. This extracorporeal procedure is physically designed to remove inhibitors from the blood that are produced by cancer cells. “These inhibitors block the immune system and therefore protect the cancer,” says Dr. Lentz. “Once the inhibitors are removed, the immune system is able to effectively attack the cancer on its own. No drugs are put into the body. The treatment works throughout the entire body, no matter where tumor cells are located. Adjunct therapies including nutrition are also used to support the immune system throughout this non-toxic therapy, and side effects are limited to those stemming from short term immune activation.” Dr. Lentz and his team have accumulated extensive clinical experience in applied tumor immunology. Dr. Lentz is an experienced medical oncologist who has held major positions in academia and clinical medicine. He has authored numerous major scientific papers and is frequently asked to lecture at medical conferences. He has served as the principal investigator in clinical trials, both with chemotherapy and biologics. Dr. Lentz is a recognized expert on cytokine modulation in cancer and infectious disease. He has focused on the development and clinical application of Immunepheresis for over 25 years and has been awarded over 65 patents on his treatment system. |
