LASER CUTTING HEAD

Nitrogen gas is used as “assist gas” to shield the material being cut from oxidation caused by contact with ambient air.

There are two main types of industrial laser – Carbon Dioxide, CO2 and Fibre.

In addition, some CO2 lasers use a beam guideway purge of nitrogen gas while some fibre lasers use a purge of nitrogen within the cutting head.
