  9673 Make identifier on GFIN dynamic
  An integer channel can now be selected to control the identifier dynamically on a GFIN channel.
  19815 System info to tell if menu system is entered
  The system info channel (SIC) now has a new value that will tell whether the display is currently in menu mode or not.
  21290 MC31: Add DOUT diagnostics
  Now possible to use the digital outputs in pairs (HS+LS). Added properties for under current detection when used as pairs.
  22417 MDL2/MD3: Allow integer channel to control DCC Up/Down
  You can now select an integer channel to control a DCC Up or Down. The button is pressed the same number of times as the value of the integer channel.
  22480 New solution library examples
  More example files added to

  22541 Multi master: Add property for J1939 start address on diagnostics bus
  Previously the master modules used address 128 and up for the J1939 communication on the diagnostics bus. A system with e.g. three masters would use addresses 128, 129 and 130. This caused problems when the diagnostics bus was shared with a J1939 bus containing external J1939 modules that used any of these addresses.
A new property is now added on the diagnostics bus that allows you to set the start address to something else than 128.
  22609 For Get project, change suggested file name to project name and version
  Previously the suggested file name when getting and saving project was project name only. Now changed to project name and version.
  22969 XC10: Add DOUT diagnostics
  Added new properties for open load detection on all digital outputs, and under current detection on digital outputs Q - T and all PWM outputs.
Note: Requires XC10 to have software version 1.06 or newer.
  22986 Add tab for legacy modules in module tool bar
  Modules that are in phase-out are now listed on a separate tab in the module tool bar.
  23014 Generic CAN: Add baudrate speed 100kbps
  Implemented.

  By touching with a second finger outside of the touch button, it was possible to make it stay activated, also when both fingers were removed.
Fixed.
  22968 Gauge: Scale color changes when Tick count < 2
  Setting tick count to 1 would erroneously remove tick marks completely and change the color of the scale to white regardless of what was defined. It does not make much sense either to have just one tick mark.
Fixed by changing min limit to 2 for property "Tick count". To add a gauge without scale and tick marks, use Image Gauge instead.
  23021 G2/MD4: Unstable connection
  The connection between the G2 and MD4 failed in some rare cases when sending/receiving files.
Fixed.
  23109 MD4: No display pages show, followed by crash
  This could happen for projects containing a lot of graphics.
Fixed.
  23149 MD4: Touch button linked to VDIN sticks when setting Visible to False
  A button that was hidden (by setting Visible to False) before you took the finger off would stick in its pressed state.
Fixed.
  23250 MD4: Disabled modules show in menu system
  Fixed, disabled modules are no longer shown.
  23276 MD4: Blue screen when using a lot of channels from another master module as input to controls on a display page
  IQANdesign now checks to see that number of external channels used on a display page is below the maximum limit. Also, the number of unique channels allowed per display page is increased (limit is now 255).
  23283 Crash when adding and selecting a COUT device type
  Happened when setting the device type for a COUT channel where the Bidirectional property was set to No.
Fixed.
  23352 State parameter can not have " in state name
  Fixed.
  23417 Transparent property on image not supported by MD4
  This property only works for images used on MDL2 and MD3 display pages. On other displays, please use PNG format and add transparency to the image before importing it to IQANdesign.
IQ hint updated and project check hint added to inform about this.
  23802 IQAN-MC3: Disrupted firmware update can corrupt the unit
  When updating the IQAN-MC3 SW version (by sending a file created in a different IQANdesign version), the reprogramming of the unit must not be disrupted by switching off power during the update. In some cases this can corrupt the unit, the symptom is that it becomes non-responsive and does not show any blink code.
After upgrade to this or later versions, this risk of corrupting the unit is gone.
  23911 MD3: Text labels are not centered
  The problem with Text and Values not being center aligned occurred when it was combined with a text width (i.e. Width set to a fixed number, not Automatic).
Text and value controls will now align correctly even when Width is not Automatic.

  22588 Send J1939 identification frames
  A master will now respond to broadcast request for PGN 65242 and 65259 on a J1939 bus.
• Software Identification (65242) will contain 5 strings: Project name, version, id, checksum and vmAC version
• Component Identification (65259) will map the following strings: Make = empty, Model = module type (e.g IQAN-MC2), Serial number = module serial number, Unit number = module address

  22796 Remove "No contact" alarm for APPIN time-out
  Before, a single lost APPOUT would trigger a warning message and log event saying 'No contact', even if all other APPOUTs from that module was received. The 'No contact' popup and log event has been removed. No change to the APPIN timeout and action.

  Added.
  19547 Add possibility to disable real-time clock in master modules
  New property "RTC enable" added to master modules MD4-x, MDL2, MD3 and MC2 (replaces property "Clock error enabled").
  20545 MD4: Add DM1/DM2 list
  A list of active DM1's can be viewed in the menu system via Info > Modules > J1939 module.
Optionally a list of DM2's may also be viewed, if enabled by new property on the DM1 channel.
  20759 Add support for MC2-M14
  Prepared for next MC2 release. Newer MC2:s will need 3.14 or higher (2.61 or higher for 2.x systems).
  20916 Remove logging of JFIN/JFOUT,GFIN/GFOUT and DM1
  When contact was lost with a J1939 or Generic module, its channels were also logged as "Timeout".
Logging of channels removed, only module timeout is now logged.
  21722 Add warning when using JFIN/GFIN without timeout
  Added warnings if timeouts are undefined for JFIN/GFIN or corresponding modules.

Changes and new features
  21723 Add warning when using numerous APPOUT's
  A warning is now presented when your project file contains enough APPOUT's to risk overloading the master bus.
APPOUT is mainly meant for sending safety related data, therefore it is only capable of sending one channel per CAN frame. If you have to transfer many non safety related channels, you may need to use JFOUT (or GFOUT) instead to not overload the CAN bus. That way you can package multiple values into each CAN frame.
  21747 Move APPIN/APPOUT to Safety tab in function group tool bar
  To better indicate the main purpose of APPIN/APPOUT.
Bug fixes
  21592 Crash when getting a project from newer system
  Crash happens when e.g. getting project from a 3.12 system with IQANdesign 3.11.
Fixed.
  21599 Socket Error # 10054 Connection reset by peer
  This error message occurred on some PC's when starting IQANdesign.
Fixed.
  21632 Crash when using status operator and referencing another function object
  Fixed.
  21728 MD4: Cannot adjust multi-mode COUT

  21741 MD4: Intermittent blue screens in extreme temperatures
  In rare occasions, especially in very low temperatures, MD4 modules may crash and display a blue screen.

  20898 MD4: ECC checksum not calculated correctly
  Under rare circumstances the ECC checksum for internal memory was not correctly calculated. Could cause dead units.
Fixed.
  21229 MD4: Touch buttons switch off after 10 seconds
  If a touch button is continuously pressed it will release automatically after a fixed time as a safety measure.
Timeout increased to 30 seconds.
  21271 Property inspector: Automatic value out of function
  Fixed.
  21277 MD4: Set date/time from menu system does not work
  Fixed.
  21297 MD4: Camera unstable when running for an extensive period
  Fixed.
  21377 When adding parameters to a GFOUT copy, the parameters are added to the original channel
  When you made a copy of a GFOUT channel and then added a parameter to the copied GFOUT, the parameter was added to the original GFOUT instead. Same problem for GFIN, JFIN and JFOUT.
Fixed.
   

IQANdesign 3.12.13 (12 Jun 2014)  [top]
Changes and new features
  3949 Improve pin conflict detection on MC2
  The COUT return pins that can be used as VIN/DIN/DOUT can only be configured as input or output in pairs, e.g. if pin C1:22 is input then C1:36 must also be an input.
This is now checked at design-time by IQANdesign.
  16107 Implement routing in multi-master system
  It is now possible to connect via USB (or Ethernet where applicable) to one of the masters in a multi-master system and access all of the other masters, e.g. to send a project file.
  16740 Text channel as PIN code for the PCC
  It is now possible to use a text channel (TP, TFC, SMSIN, FGI, SMC, SP) as the value for the PIN property.
  17098 Keep focus on state when moving between channels controlled by same state
  Last viewed state is now remembered by the SMC/SP channel. It is common to an SMC/SP channel and the channels that uses it for function selector.
  17121 Add auto completion of channel/object name in property inspector
  The auto completion is activated as soon as you start typing in a property with a drop down menu. It can also be activated at the cursor position by pressing Ctrl+Space.
  19413 RTSP support for IP camera
  Many cameras support the RTSP protocol to play video.
This is now supported by IQAN-MD4.
  19491 Add option not to show any messages at all
  New constant "None" added to property "Show messages" on display page container.
  19945 Export IQANdesign project file without firmware
  Project files consist of two major parts, the user-defined application logic and the fixed firmware. The latter is of considerable size, especially for the MD4 family. When sending files, e.g. via email, it is sometimes desirable to be able to exclude this part. This is now possible, by exporting the file to a Stripped Project file (new file format, ids3).
  20375 Improve MD4 startup time when using large fonts
  Previously all fonts in the project file were loaded at startup. This was time consuming, especially when using multiple large Unicode fonts containing e.g. Chinese.
Fixed by loading only the currently selected language's font at startup.
  20469 MD4: Improve video performance
  Latency is now shorter and the frame rate is increased.
  20774 Generate error for not adjustable channels
  This was previously a warning that was generated for channel with an adjust item connected to it but that wasn't adjustable, e.g. a state parameter controlled by another channel through its Input property.
This is now changed to an error in project check. Affected channel types: SMSIN, VDIN, SP, PCNT and DPCNT.
  20951 MD4: Decrease startup time
  Both graphics and application logic startup times have been decreased.
Bug fixes
  16907 TFC as PIN code does not work in multi-master
  Using a TFC (or other text channel) located on another master module as PIN code on an adjust group or log produced a "Wrong PIN" error message when trying to access it.
This has been solved by not allowing text channels as PIN on adjust groups/logs. Instead it is now allowed to use text channels as PIN on the PCC channel, which then can be used on adjust groups/logs (see case 16740).
If your project previously used text channels on adjust group/logs directly, IQANdesign will insert a PCC channel for you when opening the project in IQANdesign 3.12 or later.
  18569 MD4: SIC Active display page doesn't work
  Active display page was always -1.
Fixed.
  19044 MD4: Production date and Serial number missing in menu system
  Added.
  19055 MD4: Property "Allow remote connection" option "Ask user" not supported
  There was no dialog shown to the machine operator when trying to connect remotely.
Fixed.
  19289 Go to bookmark does not work when not in function group view
  Fixed.
  19873 Object references shown double in component navigator
  If you selected an object, e.g. a single object, the component navigator showed its input channel as two channels.
Fixed.
  19875 Scroll wheel does not work in block diagram

  Fixed.
  20566 Integer numbers allowed on Boolean operator operands
  Now only components with Boolean value type can be selected for Boolean operator operands (not, and, or, xor), i.e. integer constant numbers cannot be entered.
  20584 Ajust items with min max unlimited, problems with MD4 menu system adjust
  Adjust items with min and max set to unlimited could be changed from the menu system, but only to positive values.
Fixed.
  20691 Language export contains invalid excel sheet names
  When exporting languages, an Excel sheet is created for each page container. Since the page container gets its name from the module name it may contain "[]" characters, e.g. MD3[0], which is not a valid name for a sheet in Excel. The file cannot be opened.
Fixed by removing invalid characters when exporting to Excel.
  20730 Display orientation not considered for startup image
  Fixed.
  20739 SIC Date - Weekday offset
  If showing "SIC-Date" weekday, the formatted output was offset by 2.
Fixed.
  20896 Project check does not take display orientation into account
  Now orientation is taken into account when checking image size (both for images on pages and the startup image).
  20913 Unidirectional COUT shows two directions in MD4 menu system
  Second direction now hidden.
  20938 Cannot adjust PCC on MD4
  Fixed.

  The start-up time for the MD4 has been decreased significantly.

  1385 new ISO symbols added. Symbols are in vector format and can be resized when added to a project.
  14857 Horizontal/vertical centering tool
  Updated so that all controls align to the one first selected.
  15642 Configurable position and size of popup messages on MD4
  Default dialog position and size properties added on MD4 display page container.
Dialog position/size properties also available on each display page. Can be set to "Default" to use values from the display page container, or a value to override the default.
Preview of dialog box added in page editor.
  17104 Function group view - Show references for all selected channels
  When option "Show all references" is disabled, references for all selected channels will be shown. Previously references were only shown when exactly one channel was selected.
  18155 Resize handles for controls
  Implemented support for resizing controls in page editor by using size handles on the controls.
  18162 Align controls while moving/resizing
  Controls are now aligned to each other when moving them. Feature can be turned off with switch in page editor.
  18821 New display control: Gauge
  A new dynamic gauge control is added. It has no dial image. Instead its scale can be controlled by properties, which makes it easier to change size, tick marks, etc.
Old gauge control changed name to Image Gauge to clarify its use.
  18954 Mark automatic values in property inspector
  Link symbol is added left of name of properties that support automatic value. Symbol can be clicked to enable/disable automatic value. Property hints have been updated with details on automatic value.
  19164 New module - IQAN-MD4-5
  5" version of the MD4 added.

  16813 Add image library
  Added image library to IQANdesign.
Can be used from an image group or directly on a page. When using images from the library on a page, properties are set automatically.
Replaces the external image library that was previously installed with IQANdesign.
  16814 New display control - Circular bar
  Implemented.

  16815 New display control - Touch button
  Three touch buttons implemented; Text button, Symbol button and Custom button.

  A gradient defines a smooth transition from a start color to an end color. It can also contain an arbitrary number of stops defining colors at positions between the start and end color.
Gradients can be selected as colors on MD4 display page controls.
  17096 Go to component while simulating
  Context menu updated to allow this.
  17322 Make font sizes customizable
  Implemented.

  17639 Add opacity to colors
  It is now possible to add opacity to colors, e.g. 25% red (i.e. 75% transparency). Only available on IQAN-MD4.
  17651 Control list in page editor
  Added list of all controls in the page editor. Creates a good overview of all display page controls and makes it easier to select a specific control and change its Z-order.
  17842 Default value for show property on display pages
  "Always" is now set as default value on the first page added to a page container.
  17848 Add pitch to linear bar graph
  The pitch specifies the number of pixels to offset the middle of the bar in order to create a curved look.
Only available on IQAN-MD4.
  18292 Reset value and status when starting measure
  When starting a measure or switching measure group to measure form, the old values were shown until new values were received. If no or slow response this was quite confusing.
Fixed.
  18381 New PWMIN property - Leading edge
  Defines whether the PWM input signal starts the period cycle with a Positive (rising) or Negative (falling) flank.
  18544 Add new LED blink code for CAN bus error
  Previously the "CAN bus error" used the same blink code as the "No contact" error. It has now a separate blink code, 3:4.
Only valid for IQAN-MC2/MC3.
  18955 Display value type for components
  Value type shown in component navigator and IQ hint in property inspector when applicable.
  19089 Add new module MD4
  New master display module MD4 added.
Bug fixes
  1657 Unit lost after move up operation
  Unit is now kept when a channel is moved up one level (using the "Move up" command).
  17173 MDL2 slow GUI response
  Some MDL2 units have been found that can be perceived having slow GUI response. This problem can also lead to download problems over USB/CAN.
Fixed.
  17356 Value type on JPIN/GPIN error value does not match channel's value type
  The value type of JPIN/GPIN error value did not change with value type of the channel.
Fixed.

It is no longer possible to select channels together with the module. When selecting a channel the module will be deselected.

  Under rare circumstances IQANdesign could crash when starting a simulation. Solved.

  Removed pre-operational test of negative side if unipolar mode is selected.

  When closing the IMSG dialog with Esc the IMSG channel now gets value 5.
  11795 PCC PIN code can be set to a non-numerical value
  The PIN code is now limited to digits only.

  IQANdesign crashed when opening an application where the top function group was frozen. Solved.

  It was not possible to unfreeze the top level function group if it had been frozen. Solved.

  Now FG last edited is only updated when editing components inside the FG.

  14106 Drag and drop property copy does not work on group property
  Now the property values are copied recursively if dragging a group property to another (e.g. copy mode properties from one mode to another).
